Eighth- and ninth-grade students explore the rich cultures of Native Americans. Beginning with the trek of the first Americans across the Bering Strait, students follow four time-tracking friends as they explore multiple Native American cultures. Students are taken into a time warp led by Chief Aqua Taira. Through immersion in content-rich literature, they become part of some of the most fascinating civilizations in the world. Traveling from Arctic regions to the desert Southwest in search of knowledge, students' comprehension skills increase as they crawl through igloos and climb into cliff dwellings. Students have daily opportunities to develop reading, vocabulary, and writing skills as they learn about Native American cultures.
