Many students do not learn effectively from the instruction provided in their regular math class. They struggle continuously with the math concepts, skills, and strategies necessary for success. Discouraged by repeated failure, students often lose the confidence and motivation to persevere. These students score poorly on important tests, must attend summer school, and may even be denied advancement to the next grade level.
