In 2005, California added a new stand-alone reading intervention program to the state adoption list. In accordance with California state standards, California Voyager Passport addresses the needs of all students in grades 4-8 reading at least two years below grade level. Students are assessed at the beginning of the program to determine their exact level of reading ability and receive differentiated instruction that meets their individual needs.

The California Voyager Passport System
1.	Identifies struggling students immediately
2.	Intervenes with specific, targeted instruction to quickly accelerate students to grade level
3.	Monitors progress until intervention is no longer needed
