Voyager Passport

Research has shown that English Language Learners (ELL) who first learn to read in their native language can more easily transition to English-language instruction. Voyager Pasaporte™ provides students in grades K-2 targeted reading intervention in Spanish, using the same Scientifically Based Reading Research (SBRR) and framework as Voyager Passport™. The daily lessons provide 30-40 minutes of direct, systematic instruction in the five essential components of reading as outlined in No Child Left Behind to accelerate students to grade-level proficiency. Highly motivating, age appropriate content keeps young learners engaged, while built-in assessment and progress monitoring tools provide teachers with vital information about student learning so they can adjust instruction, when needed.

Voyager Pasaporte uses a simple, three-step system aligned with Reading First requirements to ensure every student achieves reading success:

1) Identify struggling readers
2) Intervene with data-driven instruction to bring students to grade level
3) Monitor progress to ensure they stay on-track

The curriculum complements and strengthens any Spanish-language core reading program and can help close the achievement gap for Spanish-speaking English Language Learners.
