BROADCASTS ON WJBF-TV IN AUGUSTA, GA
HIGHLIGHT VOYAGER'S SUCCESS.
     WJBF-TV Channel 6 in Augusta, GA highlighted the success of the Voyager Universal Literacy System® on its 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm news. The November 18, 2002 broadcasts featured kindergarten teacher Catanna King and principal Gayle McGee of Glenn Hills Elementary School. Ms. King talked about how kindergarten students responded to the structure of the classroom.
     Ms. McGee said she was convinced of Voyager's effectiveness when she visited a classroom and saw kindergarten students reading. The 5:00 pm broadcast also included a telephone interview with Jim Nelson, Vice President of Voyager. Mr. Nelson emphasized progress monitoring for students and improving teacher's skills by providing better staff development.
     The broadcasts ended with additional good news: for students using the Voyager Universal Literacy System®, the number reading at or above grade level has increased from 68% to 80%.
