Voyager Expanded Learning Announces Vmath Revision for Grades Six, Seven and Eight
Dallas, August 26, 2008- Voyager Expanded Learning, Inc. announced today the release of the second edition of Vmath® levels G, H and I (grades six, seven and eight), part of the company’s math intervention solution, for the 2008-2009 school year.
The second edition of Vmath:
Combines teacher-led instruction with engaging student web-based practice (VmathLive™ ) to provide a blended learning solution for struggling students
Is a research-based intervention that aligns with the findings of the National Mathematics Advisory Panel Report
Provides a balanced instructional approach that focuses on the development of conceptual understanding and fluency in operations and processes as it builds strong problem solving skills.
Includes online simulations of essential math concepts from award-winning ExploreLearning Gizmos™. These interactive manipulatives provide learning tools that are engaging, easy-to-use and help the visual learner understand concepts essential for critical thinking and problem solving.
Incorporates Progress Assessments powered by the Quantile Framework® for Mathematics to provide differentiated instruction and meet the needs of struggling students.
Improves teaching capacity for math instructors through the recognized professional development component, available in both an online and face-to-face format.
The second edition of Vmath will also continue to help students realize results. Nationally, students in grades three through eight made dramatic improvement after 26-weeks of using the first edition of the program, rapidly accelerating their math skills and improving their overall math achievement.
