Voyager Expanded Learning Receives
Additional Endorsement
from the Council
of Administrators of Special Education
Dallas, July 23, 2007− The Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) announced today the formal endorsement of VoyagerU®, the professional development program produced and distributed by Voyager Expanded Learning®.
"VoyagerU is a unique professional development program that the CASE Publication and Product Review Committee believes will be very beneficial to the members of our organization. We are extremely impressed by Voyager's commitment to preparing educators for the classroom," says John Faust, chairperson, CASE Publication and Product Review Committee.
The endorsement of the VoyagerU program is based on the CASE Publication and Product Review Committee's rigorous evaluation of the products and research data submitted in support of the CASE Product Review Rubric, which focuses on seven critical areas:
- Product marketability and feasibility
- Research base
- Field testing
- Company longevity and reputation
- Enhancement of professional practice advocated by CASE/CEC policy and/or standards
- Addresses member identified needs
- Evidence and documentation of customer satisfaction
"This endorsement is further evidence of how powerful VoyagerU is and how highly regarded our education solutions are," says Dr. Robert Pasternack, former U.S. assistant secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services and senior vice president of special education for Voyager. He adds, "VoyagerU offers job-embedded, sustained, high-quality, evidence-based comprehensive professional development using a combination of distance education, adult learning principles and coach-facilitated practice. All teachers can develop a common language and knowledge of the science of teaching all students to read using VoyagerU."
In addition to the new VoyagerU endorsement, CASE continues to endorse all three research-based intervention programs created by Voyager Expanded Learning®: Voyager Passport™, Passport Reading Journeys™ and Vmath®.
