Students Answer More Than Four Billion Math Questions Correctly on VmathLive
DALLAS, January 29, 2009 - Voyager Expanded Learning® announced today that students logged in to VmathLive® , the company's math technology platform, have answered more than four billion math questions correctly since the program's inception. “Our children really enjoy competing with other students from around the world on VmathLive,” says Joe Nelson, principal at Pass Christian Middle School in Pass Christian, Mississippi . “They have even competed against their own classmates and students from neighboring districts.”
Students reached the exceptionally high number through participation in daily, online math challenges with students from around the world. Annual World Math Day events also contributed to the growing number of correctly answered math questions.
During World Math Days in 2007 and 2008, students answered a combined total of 221,359,444 correctly. The world-wide online event is held every March and hosted by Voyager Expanded Learning and 3P Learning. World Math Day 2009 is Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Registration for the event begins February 1, 2009 and runs through March 1, 2009 at www.worldmathday.com .
VmathLive extends the time students spend learning and practicing essential math automaticity and concept development skills. The interactive environment motivates and engages math students, reinforces the same concepts and skills taught in core math programs and provides practice in a high-stakes test format.
