Addressing The Need

Learning to read is the single most important factor determining a child´s success in school and progress in life. Not to be a reader in the 21st century is as disabling to a child as are any of the diseases against which we regularly inoculate.

The percentage of children who can read in America´s public schools has not substantially improved for more than 25 years. In fact, 70% of children in many high poverty schools cannot read. This reality is astonishing considering that we have the science necessary to teach almost every child to read. Research from the U.S. Department of Education and the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development confirms that 95% to 98% of all children who attend public schools can become successful readers.

Based on extensive, independent research, Voyager has created America´s first Universal Literacy System, which addresses each of the key variables that impact a child´s ability to read. By controlling the critical variables, outcomes become consistent and predictable, making it possible for Voyager to deliver on the promise of leaving no child behind.
